Microsoft has released Service Pack 2 (SP2) for Office 2008 for Mac, a mid-cycle free update that improves the Office 2008 experience where it matters most: speed, stability and compatibility. The release of SP2 also includes a new utility, Document Connection for Mac.

SP2 can be downloaded here FREE and is also available from Microsoft AutoUpdate.

What's new with SP2?

Microsoft PowerPoint 2008
  • Custom Path Animation adds the ability to author motion path animations
  • Default Theme lets users define their default theme including fonts, colour scheme, slide layouts, and more

    Microsoft Word 2008
  • Application launches sooner, documents scroll faster and screen refreshes are quicker
  • Application is now more reliable with fixes based on customer feedback
  • SP2 offers improved cross-platform compatibility with tables created in Word 2007 for Windows

  • Up to 24% increased speed, especially in the area of Calculation Performance
